Linz is directly on the railway line (Westbahn) between Salzburg and Vienna, but is equally easy to reach from Passau, Graz and Prague.

By Car

To get to Linz by car, take the A1 (Westautobahn), the A7 (Mühlkreisautobahn) or the A8 (Innkreisautobahn).

Coming from Salzburg or Vienna on the A1 (Westautobahn): exit Linz/Zentrum Coming from Prague and Freistadt on the A7 (Mühlkreisautobahn): exit Linz/Hafenstraße Coming from Regensburg and Passau on the A8 (Innkreisautobahn) to the A1, exit Linz/Zentrum or toll-free along the Danube on the B127.

By Plane

Linz Airport, the Blue Danube Airport, is 15 km south-west of Linz city center. Linz Airport is outside the city – a bus, shuttle and train go into the city center.

Transfers

Shuttle & train

Shuttle service (free of charge) between the airport and Hörsching railway station (journey time: 3 minutes). From there, trains go to Linz every hour from 5 am. to 10 pm. (journey time: 10 minutes).

The shuttle service can, of course, also be used for the return journey. Please inform the station inspector at the railway station, who will order the shuttle.
