Performance procedures

Locations

A total of about 40 performance locations are available in five Pflasterspektakel Worlds and inner courtyards in the city center of Linz. In case of very bad weather, shopping centers, cultural institutions, restaurants etc. are available as alternative locations.

Number of performances

The artist or group of artists has an opportunity to give two performances on Thursday and three performances a day on Friday and Saturday for one hour in the city center of Linz.

Stage & Sound (sound system)

Sound systems are only available in the Spektakel tent and on the Radio Oberösterreich Stage.

Official permits

These will be taken care of by the organizers.

The daily program is arranged by the artists

When and where artists perform is not determined by the festival organization beforehand, but by a lot of the artists/groups themselves on the morning of each day of the festival. The "place and time reservations" are choosen on a program board in the festival center with help from an experienced Pflasterspektakel staff member.

Special performance procedures WITHOUT location selection

Especially "loud" music formations (samba, percussion, drums, brass music) and especially "quiet" ensembles (a capella), participants in the children´s program, fire shows, shows with pyrotechnic, high wire acrobatics, portrait painters, street theater companies and acts with special technical requirements perform at certain times and in selected locations in agreement with the organization team.

Street theater groups

requiring more time to set up and take down their equipment can sign up for a permanent performance location. Four to five selected plazas and courtyards will be available for two performances each evening.

Fire

Due to regulations, street art acts that use fire must be held in certain specifically assigned places. At the Pflasterspektakel only pyrotechnical materials from Class 1 and Class 2 are permitted! For this reason, please provide relevant information in the application.

Additional performances

On Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

Anyone interested can choose a location for an additional performance on Saturday between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Radio Oberösterreich Stage

The stage is set up at Taubenmarkt. Performances takes place half-hourly on Thursday and Friday between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. and on Saturday between 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Performers will be briefly introduced by a presenter and might possibly be asked to give a short interview.

Kaleidoscope Nights

Artist groups that wish to present a segment or highlight of their show (max. 10 minutes) during a moderated event are cordially invited to apply for one of the Kaleidoscope Nights at the Spektakel tent (for audiences of about 300 people).

Pflaster-Nightline

The Spektakel tent (for audiences of about 300 people) is available from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. for additional performances (no music groups). At the same time music groups may perform in selected Bars/Cafés in the City center.
