20 years of Pflasterspektakel! How could a birthday celebration be more wonderful? Full of enjoyment, a carefree joy of life, delighted astonishment and smiling faces everywhere you looked. Artistic special features, many new faces among the participating artists and countless highlights were to be discovered. The Anniversary Welcome Parade on Thursday offered a glimpse into the many years of the tradition of the Pflasterspektakel. Along with the participating artists, hundreds of visitors furnished with red signs also paraded through the Landstrasse of Linz. They represented all the artist groups that have taken part in the long history of the Pflasterspektakel! Once the 20th anniversary Pflasterspektakel group photo had been taken in the main square of Linz, a gigantic Pflasterspektakel birthday cake was cut and distributed among the visitors.

The introduction of new performance locations was certainly an enhancement, such as the Lentos Art Museum, where a French company presented breathtaking shows on hydraulic stilts and trampolines., There was also a festive atmosphere in Schiller Park for the first time this year with a colorful children’s festival and the Pflasterspektakel Nightline in the LINZ AG Spektakel Tent.

Despite the oppressive heat, the enthusiastic audience thanked the artists for their masterly skill with great appreciation, hat money and applause.
