FAQ

Every morning the artists choose their performance locations and times for the respective festival day. In the daily program you find the performance schedule of each day and a map of the festival site. It is available in printed form at all Infopoints at the beginning of every festival day (THU 4 p.m., FRI & SAT 2 p.m.) and on the website a little earlier.

Performances start every hour on the hour at 40 locations.

Tip: Do you want a good view of the performance? Be there 5 minutes before the performance starts and you will definitely be in the front row.

Around 100 solo artists and companies from all over the world are guests this year. In addition to professionals, local talents get also the chance to perform in front of a big audience. At Pflasterspektakel the variety of street performance art is presented: comedy and clownery, juggling, acrobatics and dance, puppet and object theatre, magic, aerial acrobatics, street theatre, fire shows and music of all kinds. High artistic quality and professionalism are guaranteed.

From July on Artist portraits with videos can be found in the program section, where you can also search artists according to your favorite genre.

Tip: Don’t want to miss anything? Every artist has several performances every day. With the daily program you can plan your personal festival day.

During the festival the Infopoints – marked with an “i” on the map – are the central spots for information, daily programs and questions of all kinds.

Artists do not receive a fixed fee for their performances. The interaction with the audience is essential to street performing. This also includes to show your appreciation not just with applause. If you like the performances, we kindly ask you to reward the abilities of the extraordinary artists approbpriately.

At the money exchange service next to Infopoint Hauptplatz, you can exchange big bills for small ones and coins.

“Ohne Göd ka Musi!” (No money, no music) they say in Upper Austria.

Due to the limited capacity and the great popularity, you need a seating ticket for the Kaleidoscope Nights revue show in the LINZ AG Spektakelzelt.

Seating ticktes are only available for the respective day from the start of the festival at the Infopoint Hauptplatz. Remaining places will be allocated on site directly before the show starts.

A maximum of 4 tickets will be issued per person and performance. A (telephone) reservation is not possible. Once the performance has started, there is no longer a right to admission.

In the event of sudden thunderstorms and brief rain showers, the program will be paused.

On rainy days an in the case of persistently bad weather with no perspective of dry conditions, a reduced performance program can take place at spots with rain shelter (such as passages) and some indoor places. Bad weather programs are then available at all Infopoints and as download.

The programm booklet gives a brief overview oft he participating artists, special programs and information about the festival itself. The program booklet is only available in German language from the beginning of July.

The daily program with the performance schedule is updated every day during the festival and is available from the start of the program (Thur 4 p.m., Fri & Sat 2 p.m.) at the Infopoints, on the website and via the newsletter.

Buses for Trams

During the festival days, the city centre becomes a large open-air stage and pedestrian zone. LINZ AG LINIEN offers a rail replacement service for tram lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 between Sonnensteinstrasse/Landgutstrasse (Urfahr) and Linz main station (via Dametzstrasse and Dinghoferstrasse).

A shuttle bus runs between Landgutstrasse and Sonnensteinstrasse. The Pöstlingbergbahn (line 50) departs from the main square in normal operation. Bus lines 26 and 27 have to be diverted on all three days of the event, and line 192 on Thursday and Friday in the Promenade area.

LINZ AG WASSER provides free refreshment with best drinking water with fountains throughout the festival area. You can find the exact locations on the map.

The city centre of Linz offers a comprehensive range of shops and restaurants with Landstrasse, Austria’s second busiest shopping street.

During Pflasterspektakel restaurants, inns and bars of the festival site will provide you with their culinary delicacies and offer cozy places for breaks. At the catering stands marked as Pflasterspektakel gastronomy partner you can also get drinks and snacks for take away.
