As one of the biggest street performance festivals in Europe, Pflasterspektakel Linz presents a top-class program of comedy and clownery, juggling, object theatre, acrobatics, fire and aerial performances, dance and music of all kind. The interaction with the audience is essential to street performance art. Creativity, spontaneity and light-hearted joie de vivre make up the unique spirit and atmosphere of this festival.

Around 100 artistic groups and solo performers and approx. 700 performances at 40 locations wait for you in the city centre of Linz!

Especially fans of music can enjoy the new programs Sound Yard at Altes Rathaus with fine live performances as well as the concert nights at Landhaus Arkadenhof. Pflasterspektakel dedicates a program to the city’s cultural focus “Young Art – Young Audience” of this year. So small festival visitors may join in to special music performances and make music on their own. Circus workshops for kids offer the possibility to get a taste of different kinds of artistry – in proper style at the Spectacle Tent. Games, fun and creativity are the ingredients of the Children’s Spectacle at Pfarrplatz and Promenade.

New circus, an emerging trend of contemporary circus, is part of the Street Theatre Program. This popular program showcases the diversity of international street theatre at cosy courtyards. The Kaleidoscope Nights offer a revue of performance tasters shown by selected artists at the Spectacle Tent. Further highlights are the Samba and Opening Parade along the pedestrian zone Landstrasse.

Information about all participating artists and the festival program will be published on 3 July in the program booklet (German language) and on the website.

The brochure “Pflasterspektakel in English” helps you to keep track and can be order via e-mail to pflasterspektakel@linz.at. As artists choose their performance times and locations daily anew, the performance schedule of the day is available when the festival starts at all Infopoints and online.
