28th Linzer Pflasterspektakel: 17. - 19. July 2014

Pflasterspektakel 2014

At the 28th Pflasterspektakel the city centre of Linz became a setting for international street art. More than 250.000 visitors enjoyed the unique atmosphere and the outstanding performances of about 300 artists from 36 diffrent nations. The Pflasterspektakel – one of the biggest street art festivals in Europe –presented an excellent variety of object and improvisation theatre, music of all kinds, dance, circus artistry, high-wire and fire acrobatics as well as clownery and comedic performance art at the highest level.

Within the Street Theatre Program various productions were presented at 6 locations: ranging from Friedrich Schillers piece „Mary Stuart“ staged by the artist collective Musentempel from Linz and incorporating the distinctive style of Quentin Tarantino, to a contemporary dance production by Ex Nihilo or stilt-theatre with stunning costumes by Phönix Stelzentheater.

Fans of music enjoyed various kinds of music – from Balkan to Brass, from Chanson to Flamenco – performed by more than 30 music groups at the new Music Spots.

All the popular Pflasterspektakel program highlights were also part of this years` festival: The Kaleidoscope Nights (Kaleidoskopnächte) were again one of the Pflasterspektakel crowd pullers. There, artists gave insight into the variety of street art. Joie de vivre and captivating rhythms filled the Landstraße at the Samba Parades (Samba Umzüge) on Friday and Saturday evening. Night owls joined the Nightlines at various pubs in the city centre.

The Spectacle for Children (Kinderspektakel) offered a great program for the youngest festival visitors: games and fun for children of all ages and the children`s stage with clownery and children's theatre presented in the Spectacle Tent.

The 29th edition of Pflasterspektakel will take place from July 23 to 25, 2015!
